Norway, the furthest west of the Scandinavian countries, is a beautiful land of fjords and coastline. Fishing and oil are the mainstays. All doctors can speak English as there are few Norwegian textbooks. Most patients can also speak at least a little.

UNIVERSITIES:

There are four universities that teach medicine in Norway. All bar the Norwegian University of Science and Technology also teach nursing.

University Hospital: a 806-bed hospital serves the north-east portion of Oslo and includes Gaustad Hospital, Norway’s oldest psychiatric hospital.
