It is the only private medical school in Italy. The main Institute (in Olgettina Street) with 1300 beds has everything from the emergency room to gamma knife neurosurgery. Also associated is the Centro San Luigi, an HIV treatment and research centre with 35 beds, a resus unit to assist terminal cases and a dedicated operating theatre. The Department of Neuropsychic Science is a 280-bed centre for the treatment of mental disorders. There is also a department of biological and technological research.Elective notes: If you can’t speak Italian, they can organize electives in molecular biology, cellular biology, neuroscience, immunology and radiology.
