JAMAICA
The University Hospital, Kingston Public Hospital and the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay are class A secondary and tertiary referral centres. Class B hospitals (providing in- and outpatient services in general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics) are located in St Ann’s Bay, Savannah-la-Mar, Mandeville and Spanish Town. There are also about a dozen smaller class C hospitals that are parish-based with two or three doctors providing general medicine, child and community care. Specialist hospitals include: The Victoria Jubilee (maternity), the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, the Mona Rehabilitation Centre (physiotherapy and OT for sufferers from polio, spasticity, amputation and paraplegia), the Bellevue (psychiatry), the National Chest Hospital and the Hope Institute (palliative care).
