Founded in 1860, it is the oldest medical school in
Pakistan. It uses a number of hospitals including the Mayo
Hospital, Lady Willingdon and Lahore
General Hospitals. The Mayo
Hospital: One of the largest in the country and founded in 1870. It was
named after the then Viceroy of India. All specialities are available.
There’s an excellent range of pathologies in all subjects and a busy
A&E. Friendly staff/students.

Rawalpindi and act as a referral centre for Northern Punjab and Azad
Kashmir. It’s teaching hospitals are:
c Rawalpindi General Hospital, Murree Road, Rawalpindi, a major
teaching hospital offering the basic specialities as well as psychiatry,
orthopaedics, urology and cardiology. It has Rawalpindi’s only CT.
c Holy Family Hospital which has 400 beds (soon to increase to 800)
and is all air-conditioned. It is advanced with MRI scanner.
c District Headquarters Hospital, is in the inner city and has a
trauma centre, neurosurgery and chest department.
